The goal of this project was to explore the relationship between reading and speaking, visualizing the speed of a speech and the ability of type and motion to express the subtleties of the spoken language. I portrayed the speech, using moving typography and illustration, animating the text in synchronicity with the voices, enhancing the meaning of the message.

In creating this animation, I began by choosing a letter. I decided on "O" since, compared to other letterforms, it posed a challenge in lack of variation.   I experimented with various ways of bringing the letterform to life by manipulating texture, appearance, shape, color, and motion.

VISUALIZING SPEECH

I explored the fundamentals of time-based design by using kinetic typography.  I used  typography and motion to convey meaning and emotion to viewers. In the three designs, I focused on creating typographic hierarchy to affect how the message was communicated.
